What if I am having issues with removing the Talisi menstrual cup?
If you are
having a hard time with removing your Talisi menstrual cup, try to be as
relaxed as you can be. Take in deep breaths and try again. But this time, follow
the steps outlined below.
- Talisi menstrual cups are best
removed in the bathroom or toilet.
- Assume a standing, squatting or
sitting (for example, over the toilet) position.
- Wash your hands.
- While in the shower or over a
toilet, bear down by contracting your abdominal muscles and straining your
vagina and anus - as you would do when trying to move your bowel.
- Pinch the bottom of the cup to
release the suction (that holds it in place).
- While still holding the bottom of
the cup, gently tilt it to the side. Doing this completely releases suction and
frees the cup for you to pull it out.
- Gently pull it down and try
removing the cup at an angle (diagonally).
- If taking out the cup still proves
abortive after suction has been released, gently and carefully rock the cup
from side to side while pulling it downwards, until it is free.
- Once free, empty the cup,
thoroughly rinse and reinsert it (if you aren’t done with your period).
- While taking out your cup, try not
to pull on the stem of the cup or drag out the cup forcefully as this might
hurt and make a mess everywhere. The stem helps you locate the bottom of the
cup. Please do not pull on it or yank the cup out of your vagina while holding
onto its stem.
If these
steps do not help, take a minute to relax, take deep breaths and attempt the
process a second time. You could also get someone to help you (after ensuring
they have washed their hands and have been properly briefed on the steps to
take). Please contact us if you still have difficulties and we will be glad to
guide you through.
