What happens if I can’t insert the Talisi menstrual cup?
Not to
worry! Inserting the menstrual cup is easier for some than it is for others.
Some attest to getting it right only after five months of use. If you are
having a tough time getting yours in, follow the steps from before.
- Be relaxed: Do not panic and take
your time. Being tensed up while attempting to insert a menstrual cup can make
your hands unsteady. It may also make your vaginal opening tighter, making it
more difficult to get your cup in.
- Study your body’s anatomy: Feel
free to sit or squat in front of a mirror. Insert your cleaned fingers into
your vagina to understand how its walls lie and how high up your cervix is from
your vaginal opening.
- Practice before you get on your
period: Practicing on your “free days” ensures you have less to deal with
(cramps and blood). You are also more relaxed and less eager to get it over
with. Also, when you aren’t on your period, you have a better vision of your
anatomy, making the whole process more tolerable.
- Take a look at the instructions.
The Talisi menstrual cup instructions come with a size guide. This helps you
ensure you have chosen a cup that's suitable for you. Please also see our
step-by-step illustration of how to insert and remove a cup below. (Please
insert images showing folding methods, here).
- Feel free to explore, the cup is
very flexible and so are you (hopefully): If folding it in the typical C-fold
recommended in the instructions does not work for you, feel free to try other
folding methods. Also adopt as many positions as you can to enhance access to
your vagina.
- Try a different direction: Rather
than inserting the cup straight up, try inserting it upwards and backwards to
follow the normal anatomical course of your vagina.
- Don’t be scared to use a lube:
When on your period, blood typically provides some form of lubrication.
However, if you need more lubrication, please moisten your cup with clean
water.
- Keep trying until you get the hang
of it, but be patient with yourself.

steps do not help, contact us and we will guide you through.
