Can Talisi menstrual cups be used if I have a uterine prolapse?
If used
properly, yes Talisi menstrual cups can be used in people who have uterine
prolapse, but this depends on the grade or stage of the prolapse.
Many people
with a uterine prolapse attest to successfully using Talisi cups for years
without pain. It requires finding the right position that allows you to remove
the cup easily, doesn’t cause any leaks and is comfortable for you. If while
inserting or removing your cup, you feel like you have tugged down on your
cervix, give your body a day or two off using your cup. This will give it time
to recover and restore it back to its original state.
In order to
prevent occurrence or worsening of a uterine prolapse, here are some things you
need to do.
- Try to pinch the bottom of your
cup to break the suction seal.
- Avoid tugging at the stem of your
cup in a bid to pull it out. Trimming off most of the stem of your cup could
help you resist any urge to pull at it when taking out your cup.
- Try sliding a finger along one of
the sides of your cup. This could help break the suction. After this, bring out
the cup by slowly and gently moving it from side to side until it is out.
- Always ensure that the vacuum or
suction seal is broken before attempting to remove your cup.
- If accessing the bottom of your
cup isn’t easy, assume a squatting position while in the shower or place a
stool at your feet while sitting on the toilet. Take a deep breath and see if
you can access the cup now.
- If this still proves abortive, use
a small mirror to see if you can locate your cup.
- If you need to bear down, do so
gently and not in repeated or prolonged bouts.
